Does Free Radical have to carry a charge
« on: October 14, 2010, 07:26:05 PM »
In the course of the class discussion it was agreed upon that a free radical is an unstable molecule with an unpaired electron that carries a charge. Now I am questioning this. Can radicals be neutral? For example Hydrogen has one unpaired electron and is neutral. Does radical have to carry a charge or can it be neutral?

Thank you
