May I know what the differences between the reactions mentioned?
Halogenation of alkene group can be considered stereospecific reaction? Why?
Is it because of the steric hindrance the halogen ion will encounter when one of the halogen has been added to the alkene?

Consider the notes at http://www.chem.qmul.ac.uk/iupac/gtpoc/StSy.html
I suppose in a way, yes, the steric hindrance does promote the suggested pathway.
