Post by: plshelpme on September 21, 2009, 07:56:34 PM
If you have a hair follicle drug test that reads positive/abnormal report
Your Cocaine metabolite is negative but it say positive for cocaine, what does this mean?

Cocaine metabolites are not cocaine itself, they can be the intermediate chemicals that can be used to construct cocaine, or alternatively, they can be the chemicals produced when the body begins to break down cocaine. If a test found cocaine itself it means that actual chemical cocaine was found in the hair and not some other chemical that could have come from the breakdown of cocaine.

Found out from a toxicologist that it means external contamination.

Either you had cocaine in your hair or someone contaminated the sample in the lab,
