Title: Calibration using 1/128 method
Post by: RayHumph on May 31, 2010, 03:37:13 PM
A grower wants to apply Treflan at the rate of 1 pint per acre using a broadcast sprayer that has nozzles spaced 18 inches apart. The grower has a 150-gallon spray tank.  (1) What is the calibration distance in feet = 227?;
After setting spray pressure and gear for the desired speed, travel the distance figured in question #1. Assume it took 25 seconds to travel the distance, (2) in a level place with same pressure setting, how long should you collect spray from a nozzle in seconds? (3) The spray from the nozzle is found to be 30 fluid ounces therefore, the sprayer is applying how much per acre in gallons? (4) what is the number of acres treated per tank?  and (5) what is the amount of Treflan to add to each tank in pints?
