Title: Literature Value?
Post by: unknown_analysis on January 11, 2011, 10:23:47 AM
Hello again. ;D

Does anyone know what is the literature value of the equilibrium constant of [Fe(SCN)]2+ formation? Or if not, do you know where or how can I get the literature value of [FeSCN]2+? Please cite a reference.

I've done some research about literature values, and I came to the understanding that it is a value that has been proven and is constant at all times. The literature value is somewhat like a theorem (like pythagorean theorem) or like the value of pi (3.14...) or e (2.17...). Am I right?
???

Thanks for the replies! :D

Literature value means determined experimentally and published in peer reviewed journal.

Values linked to are from Kotrly & Sucha book, you should be able to google details.

Are formation constants and equilibrium constants the same?

Thank you for giving the link sir. ;D

Are formation constants and equilibrium constants the same?

Write expressions for both both - if they are identical, they are identical.
