The formula is C9H10O2
I'm pulling my hair out over this I just can't get it to work. I know the two doublets around 7 are from an aromatic ring and the triplet near 1 seems to be a methyl, but I can't figure out what would make this work.
Any help is appreciated

Just following with what you suggest, what is left?
C9H10O2 - C6H4 = C3H6O2 - CH3 = C2H3O2
Check the integral, is there a CH2 group present? If so, then what are the possible fragments for this compound.

The proton resonance around 10 ppm and a couple of the IR features are practicably screaming the name of one of the functional groups. Furthermore, if your methyl is a triplet, what does that mean about its neighbors? Where is the resonance of its neighbor? What features would put it there?
