Post by: jedssie on February 20, 2013, 11:40:55 PM
I don't get how to find the mass balance/charge balance for an equation. Can someone explain to me how to figure it out?Are there certain steps to write the mass balance/charge balance of an equation?

It might be easier to help you if you can give an example of a question you are struggling with.

Basically, the left and right sides of an equation should differ only in the arrangement of the atoms that you began with, not in the number of atoms, because you can't produce/create atoms from nowhere in the middle of a reaction. And charge : well, you can't create charges from nothing either.
