Title: Acid anhydride and alcohol
Post by: a13b13 on February 24, 2013, 11:04:56 PM
So I have to draw the products of the reaction between an acid anhydride and an alcohol. I've gotten two of the products but apparently there are more. My textbook doesn't say anything about any other products so any help would be much appreciated!

Hint, how did you know the product shown was the product and not the alternate?

Well I drew the two that I knew how to from my book. I don't know how to get the alternatives?

Can you draw the mechanism of the reaction you've given?
