Title: Molecular aspects of dissocation in different solvents.

Hi guys,
            When a salt is formed in say dilute HCl, do water molecules hydrate the positive charge on the amine, orientating their negative portions of charge density around the positive nitrogen? This is how a salt dissolves in aqeous solutions?

In contrast, in organic solvents, a netual species dissolves through iduced dipole interactions? Am I correct in my thinking?

Hi dun13203171,

"Organic solvent" isn't detailed enough. For instance, some are polar, others are not. "Dissolved neutral species" too must be detailed, as the solute too can have strong local charges or not.
