Title: Polyurethane and Borax
Post by: kkmnam on November 14, 2017, 11:09:52 AM
Polyurethane (faux leather) and other fabrics were soaked with borax in water. The result was a sticky, slimy surface when wet with borax and water solution (after the wash) and slippery/tacky (like waxy) surface when dry. All other clothing (cotton, wool, polyester) in the same water became sticky when wet and slippery/tacky when dry also. Is the film removable? Or is it possible to create a further chemical reaction that will separate and remove the sticky surface from fabrics?
