Title: pH levels/chemical test

Hello, I am working on my lab and I have been researching on the internet about cholesterol for a lab which we have to identify the compound. Does anyone know the pH of cholesterol? I can't find it anywhere. Also is there any chemicals I can mix with cholesterol that would have a unique reaction to confirm it is that compound?

Do you think that there are any acidic or basic groups in the cholesterol molecule?

im not sure we haven't really done much. Most of the research have been from myself

Can you look at the structure and see if you can answer the question, or is this a bit above what you’ve learned?

pH is not a property of a substance, it is property of a solution.

Asking "What is pH of a hydrochloric acid" doesn't make much sense - pH of 0.1 M solution of HCl is 1, pH of of 0.0001 M solution is 4. So, which answer - 1 or 4 - would be the right one?

As Borek says, pH is not a property of a substance. Perhaps try changing your search terms when looking it up. What you are really trying to figure out is whether your substances are acidic, basic, or neutral, so try that instead.
