Title: Alkene Metathesis Selectivity
Post by: ostudent on February 08, 2019, 09:14:39 PM
Hi all,

Given 2 asymmetrical alkenes, how do you know that both terminal ends of the double bond of the main product will be alkyl substituted? Is it always this way given the alternative of the =CH2?

Sorry my wording is confusing. The question addresses stereoselectivity of alkene metathesis.

Thank you for your time.
