Many of you have asked for an RSS feed for Chemical Forums and I will now deliver. Smiley

To generate an RSS feed that only displays the blog entries from Chemical Forums and not all the other posts was trickier than I expected, but I know none of you care how I did it only that it now exists.

Chemical Forums Blog Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ChemicalForumsBlog

The feed is generated on-site but I have feedburner deliver it. Feedburner has some cool tracking abilities that I wouldn't want to bother having to script myself, so I'll be using them for this. Feedburner also has the nice feature of displaying how many people have subscribed to the feed and I will have feedburner display that stat in the upper right hand corner of the blog.

Finally, I've reconfigured the template on http://blog.chemicalforums.com to make it further look like a blog. So, if you're viewing this post from the forum, please click the blog link and tell me how you like the latest fix and please let me know how I can improve it. That bit of editing took several hours to accomplish. The same template that displays the blog is used for every single other page on the forum, but I wrote a nice php script that'll recognize the blog page and rewrite the standard template without the normal CF logo and login blocks. Again, I know none of you care, but this is the type of thing that end up sucking hours of time, since I'm not using one of those nice standard blogging platforms.

Note 1: Make sure you vote for your favorite blog amd tell your friends too! Only 4 days left with 36 votes cast so far!

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Always start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3.

I agree with ?*?: I have webspace. I can download and configure lifetype/wordpress. But I haven't leaped across my shadow yet and still write at bloggers. Damn, I'm getting lazy ...

You use one when you are talking about per molecule, and one when you are talking about per mole. Render more information about it.
