chemistry inside a car battery
« on: January 31, 2007, 11:45:04 PM »
Can somebody please help me with this?
I am trying to see how the molarity of the sulfuric acid in a car battery affects its voltage, but I cannot find any relevant information to the topic.

In my experiment, I am using two used batteries (empty), into which the H2SO4 is poured; one with a concentration of 20% and the other 40%. Then, I measured the voltage, but it did not give me 12V as it was supposed to. What did I do wrong?? ???

Maybe try searching for information on the Nernst equation.
There is no science without fancy, and no art without facts.
