Furan and Addition not Subsitutions Reactions

Hi,

Could anyone tell me if Furan undergoes Electrophilic Addition reactions in the presence of all alcoholic solvents or just in the presence of Methanol. Have looked this up in a textbook and still not a sure. Definate yes or no anytime soon would be great.
