Iodine + Ascorbic Acid reaction
« on: October 05, 2007, 09:48:53 AM »
Can someone please give a brief explanation on how this reaction works? And could you please also include illustrations? This is the decomposition reaction wherein you mix betadine with with ascorbic acid, making the solution transparent again. Sorry if I didn't use the right terms, I'm just having a hard time with my chemistry. :'( If you would like, you could just give me a link to a website explaining this in complete detail. Thank you.

PS: This is my first post, please tell me if I have done something wrong.
