Micelles and pKa
« on: April 16, 2011, 08:43:49 AM »
Hi guys I need a help,

last lab we did spectrophotometric determination of pKa of bromothymol blue in water and micelle/water surface.
pls help to answer to following question:

Explain briefly why you would expect the pKa of HIn to be larger when absorbed on the micelle surface than in water.

thanks in advance...
