calculating k from rate law
« on: February 16, 2008, 07:45:57 PM »
Hi, can someone teach me how to find the order of B and [C]?
i got a first order for [A] but dont know how to find the rest, keep on getting
weird answers, the answer for this question was 0.02 , and i think i have to find the order first to calculate the k, and i dont know how to get it!!
please show me step by step if you know how to get it! thanks~

Calculate k from Rate Law 26
  Given the data below for the reaction, 2 A + 2 B + 4 C => D + E + 3 F

 Experiment  Initial conc of A,  Initial conc of B,  Initial conc of C,  Initial rate,
                      mol/L                   mol/L               mol/L              mol/L.s
    1               0.1                       0.1                    0.2             2 x 10^-3
    2               0.2                       0.3                    0.2             4 x 10^-3
    3               0.3                       0.1                    0.2             6 x 10^-3
    4               0.4                       0.3                    0.6             8 x 10^-3

Calculate the value of k to 3 significant figures.

consider the stoichiometry, do some work, post what you find and how you are approaching the problem.
