Phenol and Phenoxide solubility

I know that phenol is less soluble then the phenoxide ion in water but i am not quite sure why phenol is more soluble then the phenoxide ion in organic solvents??

I'm quite sure it is to do with polarities...so use the similar argument as to why phenol is less soluble then the phenoxide ion in water to explain why phenol is more soluble then the phenoxide ion in organic solvents
