Pyolytic Graphite/Carbon
« on: September 03, 2008, 07:16:33 AM »
Hello, this is my first post, I hope it is in the correct spot. :)
I would like to know several things about pyrolytic carbon/graphite:
1. Are the terms interchangeable?
2. I have read conflicting accounts on its structure. Several times I heard it was highly isotropic, yet from what I've heard, and this seems more likely to me at least, is that it differs from normal graphite, exactly because it is highly ordered and anisotropic in its properties.
3. Also, would you please explain the difference between continuously nucleated, and  surface nucleated pyrolytic graphite.
