Dissolution of beryllium hydroxide

I'm trying to figure out what the dissolution of beryllium hydroxide will produce. The scenario in question I'm trying to solve has beryllium hydroxide completely dissolved in a sufficient amount of water.

The reaction I have so far is:
Be(OH)2 + H2O :rarrow:  H3O+ + Be______

I'm not sure if the 2nd product is a Be2+ ion or a Be compound.

Could someone help me with the 2nd product of the above reaction?

Do most other metal hydroxides undergo the same reaction you've suggested?  Look into them.
