Entropy of Supercooled Water
« on: October 29, 2008, 10:28:06 PM »
This was in a set of review question from my class and I got stuck on trying to find the answer.  I just cannot figure out how to connect the data given to find the entropy values requested.  The question is as follows:

Imagine that 1.00 kg H2O is supercooled to –10.0oC, 1 bar; it sits in this unstable state as long as it is undisturbed.  But one day it suddenly freezes.  Find ΔSH2O, ΔSsurr, and ΔStotal.

Can anyone help me please?
