« on: May 21, 2009, 12:44:27 PM »

1.000 moles of lead (II) acetate is dissolved into 1.5 L of water. Will a precipitate form?

I calculated it and it will form. Qsp > Ksp

The second part to this question asks how many grams will precipitate?

1 mole minus amount that is present in the solution.

However, I don't understand the question - you can't dissolve it first, precipiate later.
