hi, i'm learning about equilibrium reactions right now, and this is confusing me:

so based on what my teacher said in class, my understanding is that NH3 (ammonia) is a strong base and its conjugate acid is NH4+ (ammonium). is this true, or am i understanding what the teacher said wrong? he said it kind of quickly so i didn't quite pick it up. also, are NH4+/NH3 those types of compounds that can be either strong or weak?

clarification of my confusion appreciated, thanks

hi :), hope u are fine. your teacher is right. NH3 is a strong base and its conjugate acid is NH4+, if a base is strong , its conjugate acid is week.
there is a thermodynamic equilibrium here, between NH3 and NH4+,
u know strong acid or base is unstable and week acid or base is more stable, so in this case unstable NH3 quickly gets a H+ and creat more stable NH4+.if u have any problem please tell me.
