Hello,
  I am currently studying an enzyme that requires hydrogen peroxide (33mM). A classical inhibitor of this type of enzyme is sodium azide (~1mM), however, when it is added to the enzyme I'm studying, it significantly enhances activity, up to ~500mM. The enzyme performs a one-electron abstraction from its substrate with a concurrent reduction of oxygen to water, so I figure the results I see might have something to do with radical formation between hydrogen peroxide and sodium azide - but I am at a loss. Can anyone out there tell me what the chemical species would be when hydrogen peroxide and sodium azide are mixed?
