Help needed, just to confirm
« on: June 06, 2010, 10:53:14 PM »
Hey guys, I have a question that says, "in the reaction of C3H5(NO3)3, the temperature of the gases produced is much higher than 25 degrees Celsius. How does this change the volume of the gas produced?"

So what I'm thinking, according to Charle's law is that volume is directly proportional to temperature, so as the temperature increases the volume will also increase. Can this be applied to this question?

Yup. I don't know any of those laws by name but it makes sense right? If you heat up something, it expands if its not in a rigid container.

Only if Pressure is constant.
If Pressure also starts varying with temp, you cant really tell.
