EDTA solubility in organic solvents?
« on: June 28, 2010, 02:58:50 PM »
Hey!
I've come across a problem in some summer research I'm doing. I need to figure out how to create solutions of EDTA (pure acid, rather than the salt forms)...

I've managed to make stock solutions with water (using NaOH pellets), but I need to find an organic solvent to use, along the lines of ACN, DMSO, DCN, etc (none of those work though). Is there anything you guys suggest I try?

Thanks in advance

If you need the pure acid, then using NaOH might not be a good method of dissolving EDTA...
