How Do I make a gel harden
« on: November 30, 2010, 05:41:18 PM »
Does anyon know how to make gels harden?  I am currently using carboxy methyl cellulose or CMC and acusol 820 but I don't know if it will work. Any idea? This is for a soap formulation. Specifically Block detergent.

Why do you want to harden the "gel"?

Both CMC and ACUSOL 820 are viscosity modifiers. Do you want to increase the viscosity of an aqueous soap solution?

Thanks for replying. I want to make calsoft L-40 get solid But I believe I may need to use A sloild form of amide's or solid surfactant like N-300. Do you have any idea . Look at this link please and it will show what I need.

Why not buy a solid alternative to calsoft L-40?
