Please help me I'm desperate and so confused
« on: October 08, 2010, 10:00:16 AM »
I don't know how to find the concentration using Beer's Law.

For Example:

7.50mL of 400. ppm Fe^3+ solution is diluted to 10.00 mL
The absorbance at 550.8 nm is 1.79
The standard concentration of Fe^3+ solution is 440. ppm
The limit of detection of Fe^3+ is 50.0ppm

How do I find the concentration from this? Can you explain simply because I just don't understand how to do this. Explain as simply as possible. I know the formula for Beer's Law, but I don't understand how to use it to solve for the concentration because I am not given all the values. I just don't get it.
