Topic: What amount of water has to mixed with oil for the mixture not to be flammable?  (Read 2017 times)

if you’re drilling for oil, and there is a leak you’ll get oil in water rising to the surface.  There’s a certain ration of oil:water where there’s enough oil in it to sustain combustion; above that there’s too much water in the emulsion and it won’t burn. How do you work out that number?

Need to find the IChemE Paper defining the water cut above which an HC (hydrocarbon) release would not sustain a fire
