« on: January 26, 2011, 05:20:27 AM »
HI
here is a riddle, please help me out in solving this.
Mr 'X' is bright, colourful and universal acceptor of electrons. Artificial rain is known, but artificial sunrise is an unimaginable wonder,YES Mr 'X' is able to do that with his friend oxalic acid . Mr 'X' can detect aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon.
1.who is Mr 'X' ?
2.why is he an universal acceptor of electrons ?
3.how does he react with oxalic acid?
4.how does Mr 'X' detect aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbons ?

Mr X is the acceptor of electrons hence it must be some good oxidizing agent
Mr X can detect unsaturated hydrocarbons
so check which compounds are used to detect unsaturation  in aliphatic compounds ?
so Mr X may be KMnO4 or Br2 ???
