« on: April 01, 2011, 05:47:39 PM »

a) the number of grams of KNO3 that will dissolve in 100g of H2O at 100C
b) the number of grams of water required to dissolve 20g of KNO3 at 100C.
c) the number of grams of water required to dissolve 2g CuSO4 at 100C.
d) the number of grams of water required at 100C to dissolve a mixture containing 20g KNO3 and 2g CuSO4
I need help how to get those solved by looking at picture. Can someone please explain to me. I appreciate it, thanks.

Do you think you can do part a for us?  What does it ask?  And how does that relate to the graph?
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

Yes. Now 100g of water are required to dissolve 240g of KNO3. Then how much water will be required to dissolve 20g of KNO3?

Ok I think I figured out
b) 100gH2O/240gKNO3=x/20gKNO3 -> x=8.33gH20 will dissolve 20g of KNO3
c) 100gH2O/180gCuSO4=x/2gCuSO4 -> x=1.11g of H20 will dissolve 2g of CuSO4

But for d) would i just simply add 8.33 and 1.11?
