Specific Heat Capacity Lab - Alternate methods
« on: April 17, 2011, 06:51:17 PM »
Hey,

I did a lab assignment to find the specific heat of a metal in the way I am about to describe below. I would like to know if there is any other way I can do this lab.

I heat a metal to 100 C and put it in a calorimeter filled with water at room temperature. Heat transfer occurs and I make observations and calculations.

Any other ideas?

You should probably explain your calculation method before anyone can say if they do anything different.  There's two ways to bake the same cake but if I say i mix the ingredients and then put it into the oven, then everyone will probably say they bake a cake the same as me.

So far to answer your question though,  I also take measurements and observations and then do calculations :P
