Acetone and Sulfuric Acid

I have a question
I dissolved Acetone and Sulfuric Acid 98% with rate ~1:1
I predict the product is alcohol since oxidability of Sulfuric Acid
(C=O turn to C-OH)
But the solution after reacting doesn't be flammable, it has brown-red color

And I put Sodium Hydroxide into this test tube, it has heat energy so big
now I can't know properties of this compound

Everyone please explain about my prediction

Sulphuric acid is not an oxidant.
Sodium hydroxide reacts with sulphuric acid in an acid base process to give a salt and water and lots of heat!
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

DQD:

First of all, what were you trying to achieve with this experiment?

Concentrated sulfuric acid can act as an oxidant, especially toward metals. However, the process you described (C=O turns to C-OH) is a reduction, not an oxidation.

By mixing acetone and sulfuric acid, you probably made a carbonaceous resin by multiple aldol condensation/other side reactions.

Not of any significance, some decomposition, nothing else
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

Yeah, now I understand it
I have mistake in reduction and oxidation

and what am I trying to achieve with this experiment ?
I like chemistry, I try to react some chemicals that I have at home
I hope I can become chemical engineer as I wished  ;D

The self condensation products of acetone/H2SO4 are numerous and far from inconsequential.  The major products of the reaction are diacetone alcohol,  mesityl oxide, (iso)phorone, mesitylene, and 3,5-dimethylphenol.

The product distribution can be tailored to a certain extent using different catalysts. These methods are used industrially.

The mixture in question is likely to be very complex.
