I know that electron affinity is basically the amount of energy an atom or ion is willing to pay to buy another electron, and that ionization energy is the amount of energy required to remove an electron from an atom or ion, but I have no idea how you could really "relate" those two together. Maybe I'm just over-analyzing when I should just be thinking of the simple answer. It IS only just grade 11 chem after all.
