Voltaic pile
« on: January 04, 2012, 12:47:07 PM »
first i wanna excuse my english skills, i am not from an english-speaking country... ;)
i have a question about the voltaic pile. there, you use the oxidation of zinc and hydrogen gas is formed at the copper electrode.

my question is: which voltage do you get from this cell? do you get the potential difference between zinc and copper or between zinc and hydrogen?

In practical cell of one copper and one zinc you will get approximately 0.9 volt.and you will gate potential difference between zinc and copper plate.i used a digital multimeter to measure the volt.you can buy one.
