d-block contraction
« on: February 11, 2012, 10:28:44 PM »
Why do the s and d orbitals switch when the d orbital is filled? What causes this change in energy level?

Why is a full d orbital stable?

Why are s electrons used for bonding instead of the d orbital electrons when the d orbital is partially filled?
