titanium dioxyde synthésis

Hi everybody

the aim is synthesis of titanium dioxide by the  SOL-GEL process
First of I make hydrolysis of solution of tetraisopropoxide titanium dissolved in an alcohol by dropping  water. we obtain a SOL , this sol will be aged to  obtain a GEL ,after drying and calcination.

from the literature found that the shape and the properties catalyst  are controlled by the molar ratio of  precursor solution: water quantity: amount of solvent .

how I can find optimal proportions between precursor solution: water quantity: amount of solvent for the synthesis of TiO2

how much I need time to obtain the gel

can i use a catalyst in the synthesis of TiO2 by adding an acid such as HCL

thank you in advance

the reaction of water with titanium isopropoxide is so fast that you do not need a catalyst.  It will quickly crash out.  Rate of addition, and concentration are the variables that may have to be optimized.  A day in the library is worth a week in the lab.  Practice searching for things using search engines such as scifinder.

synthesis TiO2

hello

i hope synthesis TiO2 nanoparticles for photocatalysis of pollutants via Sol-Gel route by hydrolysis of titaniumtetraisopropoxide (TTIP) and other product.

i use this molar ratio (TTIP: Ethanol: water: HCl,,,, 1: 4: 10: 0.5) respectively i have problem when i drop water to the solution of TTIP dissolved in ethanol and HCl the presipitate is formed rapidly and i cant stir ?? why i can not obtain transparent sol ?

thanks

diodd:, I've put all your questions for two years into one thread, for the benefit of you and everyone else.  I'm sorry you haven't had better help so far, but your questions are so specialized, its hard for people to help.  You're going to have to spend more time reading and understanding your references.
