Active pharmacological ingredients (API)?

    HI all
    can anyone explain me what is API exactly, is there any special list for these kinds of compounds? for example I have one is this complete?[

    API means just what it says, and you know that already, active pharmaceutical ingredient -- it means the part of a formulated medicine that is "active" and works on a living thing.  API is distinct from excipients, those ingredients they help us swallow the medicine, or help the manufacturer form a tablet, or increase the stability of the API.  It is really pretty pointless to try and list all ingredients.
