Resolution FT-Raman spectrometer
« on: August 14, 2012, 05:50:13 AM »
I've just started doing a project with a rather old FT-Raman. I'm wanting to determine if there is a change in crystallinity in apatite upon subjection to certain conditions; I do this by monitoring phosphate's intense symmetric stretch and fit mixed Lorentzian-Gaussian curves to them in GRAMS. If the resolution used is 1 cm-1, is the smallest I can quote the wavenumbers ±0.5 cm-1? Or is it permissible to quote the wavenumbers to even lower since I'm using a Lorentzian model?
