My daughter asked me about a conversion which I could not answer. Pl help me. The question is " how to convert but-2-ene to but-1-ene?"

But-1-ene -->H2/Ni --> Butane --> Br2/hv --> 2- bromo butane -->alc. koh --> but-2-ene

I think we should use the symmetry of the molecule to our advantage.
