Salts and Stearic Acid
« on: March 10, 2013, 02:35:27 PM »
Dear Chemists  :)
I was wondering if anyone have any idea about any kind of ''salt'' that could be dissolved in '' liquid Stearic Acid or
molten Stearic Acid at 60-70 C ''.
I need this salt to be solved in cold water (20-35 C).
Is there even any kind of Salt like that???\

Really depends on what you mean by "salt".  Purely ionic solids made of simple elements don't dissolve in organic compounds.  Period.  But an organic acid or base, neutralized by another, can be called a "salt", and might dissolve.

Dex:  you spent quite a while gradually building random basic facts that you didn't know to start with, that re pretty much basic undergraduate chemistry, all built around some application you have involving stearic acid.  Can you try and give us an explicit explanation of what your application is, what you need it to do, and why you can't seem to get there?
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
