Static Chemical Equilibrium - Please give me an example
« on: August 06, 2013, 08:25:37 AM »

I have not succed in finding a single example of static chemical equilibrium, only dynamic. Can someone give me a qualificated example of a static equilibrium? Many thanks.

I think NaOH + HCl => NaCl + H2O

The equilibrium is 100% on right side.

Ok, I can imagine this reaction to be absolutely irreversible; otherwise the sea would not be so healthy. So, to put a stupid but relevant question now: There is no single reaction which is both reversible and has a static chemical equilibrium? I suppose so, but I like to confirm my conclusions.

What does "static equilibrium" mean to you?
What men are poets who can speak of Jupiter if he were like a man, but if he is an immense spinning sphere of methane and ammonia must be silent?  - Richard P. Feynman

I've never heard that term before either.
