« on: April 17, 2014, 07:08:07 PM »
I know it is basically using Selenium to oxidize an acetone and aldehyde derivatives.

i want to know what is this reaction useful for and what are some of the disadvantages that go along with this reaction.
I know there is a by product of selenic acid, its messy.
Any replacement rxn for Riley oxidation?

Any information would be helpful
