I would like to know on how electricity effects on human's nerve system by stun gun, would stun gun cause any permanent damage on nerve system?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It may cause permanent damage, but I dont know, how would it chemicaly changed the body, sure via electrolysis, but I dont know what would it change in human tissue, that would probably know some chemists here.
