What on Earth happened this day? Just curious, as I thought users online would increase as time passes.

It depends on how Google treats us.

Besides, beginning of April and end of May are quite different times (in terms of academic year in different parts of the world).

There is a lot of weirdness in what Google and other search engines think is important.  For years, any Google on a chemistry topic put the chemicalforums on the front page.  Now, it seems Yahoo answers, and all the similar questions, and even dissimilar ones get top billing.  Thing is, I can't even find other chemistry forums for students on Google, whereas Borek: and Mitch: mention a couple of other ones they frequent.
