Frequency of Certain Ions in Elements & Isotopes
« on: July 07, 2014, 04:12:30 PM »
I was reading about how atoms try to follow the octet rule to be in the most stable state; and how certain isotopes of an element are more common than others. So I was wondering if that within these isotopes certain ions are more common also? Does the isotope change which ion is most common for that isotope, or is a certain ion of an element/molecule most common regardless of the isotope?

Thank-you

It has nothing to do each other. Ions is the matter of the electron shell. Isotopes is matter of the core (amount of neutrons)
