Help with a reaction
« on: July 22, 2014, 03:19:01 PM »
Hi!

What is the kinetic product when 1 mol of H-X (X is a halogen) is added in a reaction:

CH2=CH-CH2OH + HX -> ?

There is no other information given. Would the -OH group leave through dehydration?

Thanks  :)

At the end it will be propylenoxide. HX is only catalyst.
