Oxidation of Fe2+
« on: July 30, 2014, 07:39:56 AM »
Hey,

Why does Pokka Green Tea (ascorbic acid), Marigold Orange Juice (citric acid) and 100PLUS (carbonic acid) prevent Iron Sulphate from being oxidised by Potassium Permanganate?

Think: what reactions are possible in the solution containing Fe2+ and any of the mentioned substances? How these reactions interfere with a simple Fe2+ oxidation?
