My textbook says that depending on the temperature and concentration of concentrated sulfuric acid, SO2, S or H2S can be produced when it reacts with metals. I've looked at various sources but can't find information on what temperature and concentration are required for each situation. Thank you.

That's because there are no simple rules - it depends on many factors, and in fact the only way of checking how the particular sample of metal reacts in given conditions is to do the experiment.

If the temperature and pressure were kept constant, would you need to use hotter and more concentrated sulfuric acid to produce H2S instead of SO2?
